Electricians are classified by their training and experience level.
- Apprentice - on the job training while working under an experienced electrician (earn while you learn)
- Journeyman - completed apprenticeship, eligible to work out of any IBEW union across the country
- Master - has 5 or more years as a journeyman and has pursued continuing education by passing a master's exam
